Give us your input about where to put Philly’s new bus shelters.

In the next 5 years, the City of Philadelphia will be working with our contractor, Intersection, to double the number of transit shelters in the City. We will be replacing existing shelters with a new design and adding new locations.

This is your opportunity to help us pick the best locations for a limited number of new transit shelters in the City of Philadelphia. We picked the vote locations based on the following criteria:

  • ridership
  • requests by citizens, local agencies and elected officials
  • availability of space on the sidewalk
  • proximity to hospitals
  • proximity to shopping centers
  • proximity to senior centers
  • proximity to community centers

Please note, not all bus stops in the City of Philadelphia fit this criteria and do not justify a shelter

Thank you for your suggestion. There are a limited number of new shelters available and not all shelter requests are feasible, which includes whether the stop can accommodate a shelter and if there are enough riders to justify a shelter. Stop requests that do not meet these qualifications will not be added to the website for votes. Feasible locations will be added to the voting map in the future.
